Feature request: Let sellers find out whether a particular customer has already downloaded any files from a particular product. This information is extremely useful when a customer asks for a refund and claims they haven’t downloaded any files yet.
This refund situation usually plays out like this: A customer has purchased version X of a product, then claims that they made the purchase by accident and actually wanted to purchase version Y of the product instead.
For example, they claim to have accidentally purchased the Windows version of a piece of software, when they actually wanted the macOS version. So the customer then asks for a refund of X and swears up and down that they haven’t downloaded any files from X yet. Is the customer telling the truth or not?
At the moment, sellers have no way of knowing that, so they are faced with the dilemma of either potentially snubbing an honest customer or potentially giving a dishonest customer a free product. With the feature suggested above, this dilemma would be resolved.
