The opton to create a paid (or free) newsletter on Gumroad is fantastic and could potentially be a killer feature to compete with the big newsletter and email marketing platforms like Substack, ConvertKit, MailChimp, Revue, etc. But to do that, we need the ability to import subscribers (via a .csv file) to our Gumroad newsletter (or membership).
Go to your Analytics, then to Following. There are to arrows on the top right. One of them can import your contacts as a CSV. The process is a bit finicky if the file isn’t formatted right, but the support team can definitely help with that. I’m not using a newsletter service anymore thanks to Gumroad.
Thanks. I know about this one but this is not what I mean. First, this only works for people who’ve made at least $1000 on Gumroad. Second, these imported subscibers will only become followers on Gumroad. You can’t import them into one of your membership/newsletter products on Gumroad.
This would indeed be absolutely stellar. It might involve gumroad sending them a confirmation email that they’ve signed up, but that would be a price worth paying (as long as the cusomter can be given a clue that it’s from a seller they trust)
Agreed, would love that. I’m actually trying to import followers through .csv (don’t work tho even if I just expanded the csv templaye).
But I ignored we could not used followers for newsletter :(
Why was this changed to completed? it’s not possible to import subscribers into Gumroad membership products or newsletters, is it?
Why was completed selected for this? You can’t import subscribers into Gumroad newsletters or membership packages, is what I’m saying.
HI Agree. To my knowledge, all email platforms allows to upload a maiing list or add individual contact. I’m not sure why It’s not the case for Gumroad. In any case, this request should be reopened and if there is no plan to do it, that will be nice to know why (it could be for a legitimate reaon I guess).
Reopen this please, it’s a key assets to having a business online that sells digital products, if you can’t offer uploading CSV then Gumroad customers will go elsewhere.
Please re-open this request. I have an exisiting mailing list that I’d like to migrate to Gumroad so I have everyone in one place.
I’m happy with Gumroad, but like many I have a mailing list with another service, I would like to import it into Gumroad to be able to enhance my sales opportunities and not always create double emails..
This has become exhausting work and I think it’s a simple thing to add to Gumroad.
Subscriber import was definitely possible a few years ago. I know because I did it, and even got assitance from support when things didn’t work right away. I don’t know why they would remove this feature.
Is export at least still possible??
why closed?
